Many studies will tell you that marriage is good for you. Married couples are healthier and live longer than those who are single.

When a person is stressed out over their marriage, they have a tendency to engage in harmful habits to numb the pain. They may start smoking, drinking alcohol, or doing drugs. They may start hanging around a bad crowd and even contemplating suicide to get out of their marriage.
